Re-Trace nowadays

In the years 2014 to 2018 're-tracing' (meaning re-observing and re-considering) the photoworks I made during, before or even long before my (at the time) paintings and (nowadays) drawings turned out to be intrinsic part of the process of creating new works.

A longing for (again) regularly posting this kind of pictures as well as (new) my 'ready-made drawings' made me open an instagram account too, so you can also follow me there.

About Re-Trace

Re-Trace is about visually re-considering the pictures I made intuitively during the great travels and treks in the past years, which were meant to discover and explore the way I am perceiving and wondering about the visual world around.

To find out if these earlier observations and views are still interesting for me, if and why they're of any importance or even sort of raw material for current artwork, I will start in the present and look forward to going back slowly to previous years. In between there will be new travels, so I will also deal with new photos.

This blog shows my choices and series as work in progress : images may be added, reordered or removed, the process guided by visual intuition and by looking, looking and looking again.

All pictures were 'found' images (that is : not searched for them.. no 'concept' at all) and were made with a simple compact camera and nowadays an iPhone. This turned out to be essential, to keep my observations pure and straight.
